Builders working on our Cottam Meadow development on Canberra Lane put together the out structure to provide a protected area for children to use as an extension to the class room as well as a space to play.
The ‘lean to’ means that during break times, children have an extra place to grab some shade in the warmer months and shelter in the winter and enables groups to enjoy outside learning as part of the curriculum.
Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director at Barratt Manchester said: “It has been great to work with Cottam Primary School and build this ‘lean to’ for the children. It is important as a leading housebuilder to support the local community as it is likely that many of our buyer’s children will attend schools in the area and we would like to leave a legacy here.”
Agnes Ball, a spokesperson for Cottam Primary said, “We would like to thank Barratt Manchester for the kind donation of the lean to at our primary school as well as coming down to put it in place. This will provide the children with much needed and create space for exciting and creative lessons.”
Pupils from Cottam Primary School have also recently visited the local Barratt Homes Cottam Meadow development for a site safety trip, which saw the site manager teach the youngsters about the dangers of building sites.
