Stories were brought to life in front of the eyes of pupils, thanks to storytelling events at Barratt Homes’ developments Quernmore Park, Lancaster and J One Seven, Sandbach.
School children were invited to the developments for a day of magical storytelling which was hosted in one of the show homes, to mark National Storytelling Week.
We invited professional storyteller’s, both members of the Society for Storytelling, to spend the day at the developments, telling stories to the pupils and engaging them in the literature.
The awareness week ran from 27th January to 3rd February and aims to unite both children and adults in the customary pastime of storytelling.
The children learned how oral storytelling has allowed stories to survive and evolve over thousands of years, and across continents.
Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “It was a pleasure to have pupils from Ridge Community Primary School visit our Quernmore Park development this week and Jake’s stories really enchanted the children which was great to see.
“Events such as these give Barratt Homes the opportunity to make a difference in the communities in which they build and encourage the awareness week that promotes skills such as reading, writing, listening and creativity.”
