Barratt homes leaves kids eggstatic with Easter egg donation

Barratt Homes Manchester has donated £100 worth of Easter eggs to Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club for the Easter holidays.

Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club, close to Barratt Homes’ Amberswood Rise development in Greater Manchester, received a donation of Easter eggs from us to replace a number of Easter eggs stolen from the club gym in the weeks prior.

The family run club provides coaching sessions for children in the community as young as three years old, to children ages 16+ and adults too. With qualified coaches, Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club have been a huge support to the local community through donations, coaching sessions and celebrations in honour of achievements from club members.

The Easter eggs stolen had originally been donated by members of the wrestling club and local community to be included in a raffle draw where the money raised was to be donated to The British Lung Foundation and to offer aid to support Ukraine.

With help from the local community, the wrestling club have been able to replace what was lost and continue with their contribution to both chosen charities.

The donation has been well received and has given the opportunity for the club to make their contributions to charity as well as provide the children of Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club with their own Easter eggs.

David Grundy, Head Coach at Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club, said: “The club would like to thank Barratt Homes for their kind donation of Easter eggs and for helping the local community come together to help such a worthy cause.”

Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director at Barratt Manchester, said: “As a leading developer it is really important that we support the community in the areas in which we build.

“Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club support its club members in and out of the athletic environment, and we are happy to support them with the donation of Easter eggs to children in the local community.

“In light of the difficult times we have all faced, we’re encouraging more people to support their local community where possible.”
