LOCAL CHARITY RECEIVE DONATION FROM BARRATT HOMES

Barratt Homes Manchester has made a donation to Bury Hospice as part of its Community Fund scheme to give back to the communities in which they build.

Bury Hospice opened its doors in 1991 to provide palliative and end of life care for thousands of local residents across Bury and the wider area. The hospice offers 24 hour inpatient support, respite facilities, complimentary therapy and family bereavement support.

With all services offered free of charge the independent charity generates the necessary funds to run the hospice through its Income Generation team, community donations and legacies.

Barratt Homes’ donation came as part of the Barratt Developments Plc Charitable Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

The donation will be dedicated to the running costs of the hospice to ensure they can continue to carry out their essential work for many years to come.

Sarah Machin, Director of Clinical Services at Bury Hospice, said: “Anyone who has experienced the amazing care, support and compassion at Bury Hospice will know what a special and crucial service it provides for the people in our borough.

“We rely on the support from people in the community, every donation no matter how small, makes a real difference and contributes to the care the Hospice provides.”
