Salford nursery has a ‘tale of a time’ thanks to Barratt Homes

A nursery in Salford were treated to an end of term reading from a Manchester-based storyteller, thanks to local housebuilders.

30 three and four year olds at St Paul’s Church of England Primary School had a storytelling session from the ‘Short Story Lady’ (Carol Ferro), thanks to generous donations from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.

Tales such as The Night Before Christmas, The Gruffalo’s Child and Tickly Christmas Wibbly Pig were read before singing to Jingle Bells and When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney. Each child also received a gift of a book to take home each about climate change and the environment.

Barratt Homes are passionate about teaching sustainability. The company are part of the Energy House 2.0 project at nearby University of Salford, a globally unique and innovative research centre helping to accelerate progress towards low carbon and net zero housing design at scale.

Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Manchester division said: “It sounds like the children had great fun listening to the storyteller and we are pleased we are able to engage with local schools in this way.
